Funeral services for Mr. Rickey Yates, age 66, are scheduled for 10 AM, Saturday, January 4, 2020 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home. Interment will follow in New Hope Methodist Cemetery. Mr. Yates passed away on Wednesday in Pinson. He was born May 13, 1953 in Memphis. He was a mechanic and a member of Parkview Baptist Church. He earned his Eagle Scout as a Boy Scout and was an avid hunter and gun collector. He loved music and cooking, especially BBQ and Fish Fry. He always enjoyed talking and visiting with family and friends and was a very caring and giving caretaker for his wife, Sandy. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Willard Yates and a step son, Steve Henson. Survivors include his wife, Sandy Yates; his mother, Bennie Yates; his daughter, Beth Yates Murley (Roger); a step son, Chris Faircloth; a step daughter, Tiffany Trimmer; two sisters, Vivian Stockard (David) and Pat Evans (Tracy); three grandchildren, Andrew and Eric Murley and Kinsley Kay Davis; and special family members, Mitchell Evans (Lauren Moore), Katie Evans, Rebecca O’Malley (Michael and son Jarvis), Abigail Evans (Nate Schwindt), Holly Bridge (Levi), Clayton Stockard (Ying and son Joshua), and Brandon Davis.
