Photo of Rickey YarbroughRickey Yarbrough of Wolf Springs, AL sadly left our world on October 2, 2025, a life richly lived in service and kindness. He was known for being a hard worker, a beloved husband, father, and “Papa.” He graduated from Hatton High School in 1974, where he played football as a 3-time All-State selection and a North-South All-Star selection. He went on to play football at UT Martin and was later inducted into the Lawrence County Sports Hall of Fame. Rickey worked 39 years at International Papers, 3 years at Georgia-Pacific, and 3+ years with Enersolv. Rickey was a big man with a deep voice; however, he was gentle in spirit. He loved coaching youth sports and attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and often reminisced of the wonderful memories made. Rickey was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Henry Yarbrough and his brother, David Loosier. He is survived by his mother, Pauline Loosier; his wife of 50 years, Jenell Berryman Yarbrough; sons Drew (Melissa) Yarbrough of Huntsville, AL; Cain (Jessica) Yarbrough of Killen, AL; and Blake Yarbrough of Nashville, TN. He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren: Ella Grace, Olivia Cate, Henry, Emmett, Nolan, and Teddy. Rickey is also survived by his brothers, Clinton Yarbrough of Town Creek, AL; Bobby Loosier of Louisiana; Jeff Loosier of Town Creek, AL; and by a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are his nephews, Rickie Harrison, Greg Harrison, Brandon Fretwell, Tyler Berryman, Todd Berryman, and Sloan Berryman. Visitation will be held at Moulton Heritage Funeral Home, 15215 Court Street, Moulton, AL, 35650, Saturday, October 4th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Graveside Service, open to all friends and family, will be held Sunday, October 5th at 2:00pm at Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, 2762 Co Rd 235, Town Creek, AL 35672. Officiated by Brother Terry Settles and David Berryman.
