Rickey Newman, 71, of Harvest, Alabama, passed away on Friday, August 4th, 2023, at Crestwood Medical Center. He was born June 9th, 1952, to parents Charlie Newman and Nell Newman.
He is survived by his brother Wayne Newman; 3 sisters Judy Fleming, Diane Newman, and Barbara Roe; his son Derrick Newman, his daughter Gennell French; grandchildren Tristan French and Emma Kate French; his son-in-law Patrick French; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Nell Newman.
Graveside service for Mr. Newman will be Tuesday August 8th, 2023 at Roselawn Cemetery at 2pm. Visitation will be from 12-1:30pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
Rickey loved hunting and fishing. Largemouth bass fishing was his favorite. He liked to go fishing in the rain because he said the fish would bite better. He was an Army veteran returning to Madison County where he married and had 2 children named Charles Derrick Newman and Mary Gennell Newman. He was employed by the U.S. Corrugated box factory for many years. He later worked at LG Electronics. He has two precious grandchildren, Tristan Lynn and Emma Kate French.
