Rickey Gene Swindle passed to his heavenly home peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. at his home. Born on January 12, 1957, to Malcolm and Estelle Swindle, he lived a full life, working in construction, diesel and automotive mechanics, and ultimately driving long-haul 18-wheelers until he was no longer able to. He enjoyed his free time doing all the things he loved, like hunting, fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, and, most importantly, spending time with his grandchildren. To know him was to love him. He was quite reserved, but if he didn’t like you, it was impossible not to notice. Rickey had a natural charm that drew in babies and animals alike. He was always ready to help anyone in need—except when it came to lending his tools. Known for always accomplishing any task he was given, he had a passion for playing guitar, dancing, and singing. Life wasn’t handed to him; he earned everything through hard work and determination. His family meant the world to him, and his legacy is one that will never be equaled.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years, Tina Swindle, his daughter, Tina Pace (Dennis) of Pontotoc, his son, Rickey L. Swindle of Pontotoc, his grandchildren, Dakota Campanaro (Weston), Katie Jones (Chico), Abby Pace, Sierra Swindle, William Drake Swindle, Jazz Mikell Swindle, and Annabelle Swindle all of Pontotoc, three brothers, Thomas Hayes Swindle of Union County, Elvis Swindle, Calvin Swindle (Denise) of Pontotoc, one sister, Jennifer Roberson (Scotty) of Pontotoc, honorary brother, Tommy Denton (Peggy), and honorary sister, Pat Heatherly (Freddie), two bonus grandchildren, Joseph Campanaro and Paisley Goforth of Pontotoc, and three great grandchildren, Braylon Lee Jones, Grayson Gene Jones, and Sadie Layne Ferguson. Rickey also leaves behind a plethora of nieces and nephews, as well as many bonus children from over the years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Malcolm Swindle, mother, Estelle Swindle, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Services will be held at 2PM Friday, September 19, 2025, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Wayne Ward officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 7:30-9PM and Friday afternoon 12PM until service time. Burial will follow in Post Oak Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rickey L. Swindle, Mason Jones, Will Swindle, Chico Jones, Weston Ferguson, Austin Swindle, Hunter Rhea, and Chris Thomas,
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dennis Pace, Jazz Swindle. Joseph Campanaro, Elvis Swindle, Calvin Swindle, Barry Sneed, Tim Denton, Donald Denton (Duck), Shawn Denton, Kyle Holloway, Bailey Holloway, his great-grandsons, Brayton and Grayson Jones, and his fellow riders and drivers.
