Rickey E. Marks, 57, of Decatur passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Mr. Marks followed his late father’s footsteps into the construction business working as a carpenter, millwright and superintendent. He loved spending time with his family at the beach and hunting on the family farm in Bluewater, Tennessee. Rickey attended Epic Church. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Marks.
Survivors include his wife, Lori Marks; his mother, Velma Marks; two daughters, Jessica Stevens and Brittney Marks; four brothers, Don Hodges (Lynn), Dreanion Marks (Sandra), Bunyan (Alison) and Paka Marks; and one granddaughter, McKeley Williams.
Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Sims, Julio Cerda, Philip Etienne, Jack Marks, Sam Marks and Taylor Marks. Honorary pallbearers will be Alec Marks, Harrison Marks, Brent Craft and Paul Coffman. In lieu flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
