Rick Lansdell, 68, of Florence passed away on Monday, July 20th after a brief illness. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 24th from 1-2pm in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, immediately followed by a memorial service. Williams Funeral Home, directing.
He is preceded in death by his father Forrest Lansdell, brother Greg Lansdell and nephew Heath Lansdell. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Cox Lansdell, stepdaughter Emilee Stone (Jason), mother Edie Nichols Robertson, brother Alan Lansdell (Dawn), nephew Dalton (Makayla), along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rick was a devoted husband, stepfather, son and brother. A kindhearted, soft spoken, God fearing, selfless man – a “gentle giant”.
He was retired from Consolidated Tool after 35 years where he worked as a project manager in the manufacturing of engineered plastics and metal tooling. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Florence, a talented local artist and member of the Shoals Artist Guild. He enjoyed painting portraits, pets, nature and local sights. He loved boating, fishing and watersports.
