Visitation for Mr. Rick Dewberry, age 69 of Heflin, will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 1:00 to 6:00 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.

Mr. Dewberry passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at East Alabama Medical Center. He was born in Cleburne County, graduated from Lineville High School, and got his associates degree from Southern Union State Community College. Mr. Dewberry worked as a truck driver for several years, and was an U.S. Army Veteran. As a truck driver, he always said he never wanted to drive up north again, or past El Paso, Texas. He enjoyed taking his kids out on the road with him, and was always on the go. Mr. Dewberry cheered on the Alabama Crimson Tide Football Team, and his favorite past times were fishing, golfing, spending time with his family, and he enjoyed going to the mountains and the beach.

Mr. Dewberry is survived by his wife, Wanda Dewberry of Heflin; father, Gene Dewberry of Ashland; two daughters, Tracy Mooneyhan (Benny) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Tonya Hall (Andy) of Alexander City; three step daughters: Chasity Lopez, Heather Kennedy, and Kristy Strickland; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Deborah Hill (Dan) Beach Island, S. C. and Gail Mitchell (Mack) of Lineville; and three brothers, Randy Dewberry (Judy) of Delta, Robbie Dewberry (Terri) of Granbury, TX., and Ronnie Dewberry (Elaine) of Ashland.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Inez Dewberry; one son, Richard Scott Dewberry, Jr.; and one grandson, Austin Mauricio.
