richardIt is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Wayne Shareck, of Harvest, Alabama, who passed away with his family at his side on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Oct. 27, 1954 in Montgomery County, and the 3rd child of Johnnie Pauline and Michael William Shareck Jr.
Richard married Tay R Grant, Sept. 22, 1984 in Huntsville, Alabama. He was a graduate of UAH with a degree in electrical engineering and received an MBA from Alabama A&M. A loving father of five children that he guided and provided many life lessons to shape his children into the adults they have become. Richard was always a person willing to help whether he knew you for many years or just met you for the first time. His humor, love and intelligence was infectious and touched many of those who knew him. His hobbies changed as the years passed by, from camping, vacationing, riding his Harley Davidson, watching football, working on the cars he collected, or just spending time with his children and grandchildren. An engineer by profession, but known as a problem solver and go to person. After working 30 years at the Chrysler facility in Huntsville, where Richard met many lifelong friends, he retired.
Richard made positive impacts and left many stories and memories to those who had the pleasure to know him. Immediate family, who will tremendously miss him include wife, Tay R Shareck; five children, Daniel Shareck (wife, Victoria), Shanen Cotttingham (husband, Rodney), Scotty Shareck (wife, Mandi), Ashlea Chance (husband, Chase), and Levi Shareck (wife, Joshlyn); 13 grandchildren, Allison, Katelyn, and Ethan Shareck, Brinkley, Dawson, and Graham Cottingham, Rilee and Lauren Shareck, John-Tyler, Tanner, Barrett, and August Chance, and Natalie Shareck. He is also survived by siblings, Michael Shareck III (Kathy) and Michele Wells (Spencer); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, from 2-4 p.m. at Lindsay Lane, East Campus, 1659 Nick Davis Rd., Harvest AL, with service immediately following.
Special thanks to pastor Andy John King and the Lindsay Lane Baptist Church East Campus, as well as Kevin Marsh and the Madison Chapel Funeral Home in Madison, Alabama.
