Richard Warren “Ricky” Collums, also known as “Dick,” age 63, passed away at 5:10 a.m. on March 9, 2026, at Methodist University Hospital.
Ricky was born on June 2, 1962. He was married for 46 years to the love of his life, Beth. He was a devoted and loving father to Courtney, Whitney, and River, and he was reunited with Courtney at the pearly gates. As a father, he taught his children the value of family and unconditional love, and he showed it every day simply by being there.
He was also a proud grandpa to nine grandchildren who meant the world to him.
Ricky was a carpenter by trade and a man who worked hard with his hands. He lived a simple life and found joy in the quiet things, especially watching the sunrise and spending time in nature. In his younger years, he loved jug fishing on the Mississippi River, hunting, camping, and mud riding. Though he was not a man of many words, those who knew him will remember his sarcastic humor and the way he always did things his own way.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Caffey Collums; his daughter, Whitney Green; his son, River (Brittany) Collums; his grandchildren, Zachary Collums, Peyton Higgingbotham, Zoey Green, Zaeda Green, Zander Green, Natalie Collums, and Brody Collums; his step-grandchildren, Emma Barnett and Waverly Barnett; and his sisters-in-law, Linda (Henry) Thornton and Marianne (Robert) Webb.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Courtney Collums; his parents, Joseph and Marie Collums; his sister, Debbie Meredith; and his brother, Joey Collums.
To know Ricky was to love him. He lived simply, loved deeply, and will be missed beyond words. 🤍
