Mr. Richard Wade Menefee Sr., age 83 of Athens, AL passed away on Friday, July 26, 2019 at UAB in Birmingham, AL. Mr. Menefee was born on June 10, 1936 in Fayetteville, TN to Gene Menefee and Rachel Blankenship Cox.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Carey Randell Menefee and Bruce David Menefee and Sister, Martha Jean Phillips.
Mr. Menefee is survived by his wife of 63 years, Faye Menefee; children, Rickey Menefee (Donna) and Pam Haney (Clayton); daughter-in-law, Anesia Menefee; grandchildren, K.B. Montgomery, Wade Menefee III,Kasey Menefee, Karley Menefee and Kayla Menefee; great-grandchildren, Lilly Kate Solomon, Max Menefee, Madelyn Montgomery and Elliotte Menefee; niece, Teresa Turnbow.
Mr. Menefee loved his family and enjoyed family gatherings. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and Alabama football fan.
There will be a graveside service at 2:00PM on Monday, July 29, 2019 at Huntsville Memory Gardens with Everett Conn officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM-12:00PM prior to the service at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jackie Wolfe, Jack Clem, Troy Statum, Bodie Statum, Jerry Bryant and Griffin Bryant.
