Richard Vernon Smith, age 65 of Huntsville, passed away June 11, 2019.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Ann Y. Smith; son Charles Clayton Smith (Margarete); three grandchildren Clayton, Abigail and Peter; daughter Carolyn Ann Ponce (Dario); brother Robert Leland Smith; sister Anna Maria Oswald (Mark); nephew Charles
Oswald; niece Shannon Oswald.
Mr. Smith was a native of Huntsville and a lifelong member of St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church and retired from Huntsville City
School System.
Visitation is Friday, June 14, 2019, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Memorial Mass will be Monday, June 17, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church officiated by Father William Kelly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church Building Fund.
