Memorial service for Richard Sim Hamilton, Jr., age 66, of Decatur, will be Friday, August 27, 2021, 6:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service at the funeral home.
Mr. Hamilton, who died Friday, August 20, 2021, at his residence, was born February 9, 1955, in Decatur, to Richard Sim Hamilton, Sr. and Dorothy White Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Steve Hamilton, and his lifelong friend, Pete Longshore. For more than 20 years he worked as a welder for Willow Products. He was an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Alexander (Rodney) of Moulton; one brother, Roy Hamilton (Penny) of Prattville; two sisters, Karen Hamilton and Regina McCreery, both of Decatur; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and his lifelong friend, Shelby Longshore of Trinity.
