Richard “Rick” Calvin Rothermel, age 74, of Arab, Alabama passed away at his residence on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Born in Tennessee on July 6, 1950, Rick was one of two children born to Robert Calvin Rothermel and Frances Wilhoite Rothermel. He relocated to Arab, AL just three years ago after previously living in Melbourne, Florida. Rick was high school graduated and had served honorably as a Sergent with the United States Air Force.

Rick was an accomplished writer and had recently published a new book. He loved the older model vehicles, especially the Pontiac. He loved discussion older vehicles and doing pinstriping.
Rick is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Sharon Rothermel; uncle, Gene Carlton and his wife Mary; and numerous cousins.
The family has chosen cremation and will announce memorial service plans once those plans are completed.
