A private family service will be held for Mr. Richard Neil Ernest, age 90.
Mr. Ernest passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Mr. Ernest retired as a Captain in the TN National Guard after twenty eight years of service, he was also a retired office manager for Brown Shoe Co., and an employee of City Lumber and A & A Tire.
Mr. Ernest was a former member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Dyer for many years and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Trenton.
Mr. Ernest loved to read, listen to classical music, and took great pride in doing his yard work, and enjoyed spending time outdoors.
Mr. Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Robbie Ernest; and a brother, H. C. Ernest.
Mr. Ernest is survived by his wife, Mary Ernest of Trenton, TN; three daughters, Janet Whitlow of Trenton, TN, Alice Alford (Quiton) of Trenton, TN, and Clare Tuner (Louis) of Dyer, TN; a sister, Joan Williams; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and six great-greatgrandchildren.
