Richard Lockhart, 62, of Sumiton, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2026.
Richard was a devoted family man who loved his family above all. He loved fishing and going to the beach. He always enjoyed grilling and cooking for his family, especially on holidays. He would always eat last to ensure that everyone got what they wanted. He prided himself on keeping his yard cut and cleaned. He worked for Washer Refrigeration for 30 years. Last but not least, he was an avid Alabama football fan.
Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Zac Bozeman will officiate. Burial will follow at Littlevine Cemetery on Empire Rd. Visitation is Friday, 12:30-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his son, Randall Lockhart; parents, Gordon and Hldred Lockhart; brother, Keith Lockhart; and sister, Donna Richardson.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Swann Lockhart; children, Richard Lockhart, Angie Potts (John), and Rona Brown; grandchildren, Emma and Carter Lockhart, Lilli Elliott (Zac), Leslie Mortensen (Kaleb), Coby Hollis, and Robert Hollis (Kylie); great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Ellianna Elliott; brother, David Lockhart; best friend, John Potts; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
