Mr. Richard Lewis CrossRichard Lewis Cross was born on March 19, 1949, in Madison County to the late Thomas Lee Cross Sr. and the late Ellen Clay Cross.  He was called to heaven on June 18, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital CCU.

Richard is preceded in death by his beloved parents and his brother Charles Cross Sr.  He is a graduate of Madison County High School.  He later joined the United States Army, continuing his service to the Reserves and ending his service to our country with the National Guard with an honorable discharge around 2003.

Richard dedicated his life to Christ at an early age at the Mt. Lebanon P.B. Church.  He was an avid bowler, and horseshoe player. He loved to fish, golf, play dominoes and cards with his family and friends.  His favorite past times were spent surrounded by his loving wife Priscilla Cross and his many children and grandchildren.

Leaving behind to cherish his loving memory is his forever devoted wife, Priscilla Cross; three daughters: Caprice Dillard and Subrina (Darryl) Thomas, both of Huntsville, AL, Demetra (Rickey) Sullivan of Berkley, AL;  four sons:  Nathan Fletcher and Alan (Heather) Sullivan of Gurley, AL,  Lou (Lisa) Sullivan and Theoplis (Leeann) Sullivan Jr., both of Owens Cross Roads, AL,  three brothers:  Thomas (Pinkie) Cross Jr. of Huntsville AL, David Cross of Berkley, AL, and Albert (Cynthia) Cross of Florida; sister: Mary Ann Moore of Georgia; three brothers-in-law: Randy (Debra) Sullivan and Garry (Ericka) Sullivan of Huntsville, AL, and Eli (Charlie Mae) Sullivan of Carolyn, TX; best friend Bill Collier; 25 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

For we know that when someone passes, they are never truly gone if you remember them in your hearts.  Richard will forever live on in our hearts, our prayers, and many wonderfully happy memories.  He was a devoted son, brother, husband, grandfather, and friend to so many, and we are thankful to have shared life with him. You are forever loved “Kat”.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Liberty Primitive Baptist Church (268 Burruss Road, Berkley, AL 35748). Interment will be in the Baldwin Cemetery in Gurley, AL. Mr. Cross will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.

Public viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2024 and 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
