Richard Douglas Drummond, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, May 9, 2019.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Clarke Drummond, Eugenia Pritchett Drummond and stepmother Libby Drummond; brother, Billy Drummond; sister, Rhonda Henshaw; and grandson, Jake Tramel.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Kathy Drummond;daughter, Tammy (Daniel) McCallie of Chattanooga, daughter, Stephanie Drummond of Hazel Green; son, Doug (Stacy) Drummond of Huntsville; son, Brant (Sheryl) Drummond of Hazel Green, and son, Dean (Mary) Drummond of Bradenton, FL.; nine grandchildren: Leah (Colton) Rhody, Craig Knox, Brittany Hammonds, Ashlyn Drummond, Samuel Drummond, Hailey Drummond, Bryson Drummond; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Dell Dillard (the late Richard Dillard); brother, Lewis Drummond (Sandy);and numberous nieces and nephews.
He was a United States Marine and an avid donor to St. Jude’s Hospital. He worked as a mechanic for 70 years. His favorite pastime was watching Alabama Football and NASCAR.
Visitation will be Monday, May 13, 2019 at Berryhill Funeral Home from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm. followed by the funeral service at 5:30 pm. with Brother Bobby Eads officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital and the National Cancer Society. ROLL TIDE!!!
