Richard Donald “Don” Morison, 82, passed away on April 5, 2018 at home. He was the husband of Darlene Morison. They shared 24 years of marriage together.
Born in Houston, Texas, he was the son of Pearl Milton Morison and Elmer Powers Morison. He graduated from Harlingen High School, Harlingen, Texas and later attended Auburn University. He served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961. He was employed by NASA and worked as an airplane mechanic and later as Chief of Quality Control of the Aircraft Department.
He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. He worked on many projects for the church and was also active in Habitat for Humanity. Other organizations he joined over his life were Jaycees and the Masons, a 32nd degree Mason and went east to the Shriners. He was a people person and helped others in many ways.
He is survived by his spouse, Darlene Morison; sister, Mary Lou Beddow; son, Edward Morison; stepsons, Robert Rose (Louan), William Rose, Brian Cobb (Kelli) and Christopher Cobb; grandchildren are Christina Rose, Sandy Grissom, Jared Rose, Emma Cobb, Jake Cobb and Jackson Cobb; great-grandchildren are Cameron Robert Dale Grissom and Christopher Morison Grissom. He also has several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and one son.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County or Hospice Family Care (Huntsville).
