Richard (Dick) Allen Holloway, age 80, passed away Monday September 5, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 14, 1941 in Buechel, Kentucky, the son of Allen and Julia Holloway.
Dick graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, 1964; Master’s in management science, Texas Christian University, 1971; and from the Senior executive program, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1981. He began his career working on the Apollo spacecraft, continuing until his retirement in the defense industry. Along the way, he served his community making many lifelong friends. Dick, known as Pa, was passionate about his love for the Lord and his family, leaving an indelible legacy. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served in numerous ways. He was a good and faithful servant.
Dick is survived by his wife Phyllis; their three children, Kimberly (David) Howard, Richard (Melinda) Holloway, and Karen (Rusty) Savage; grandchildren, Caroline (Daniel) Studdard, Ethan (Mallory) Howard, Richard (McCamy) Holloway, Hannah (Duncan) Harrity, Michael Holloway, Allison Pearson, Jackson (Kelsey) Pearson and Harrison Pearson; great-grandchildren Richard (Ricky) Holloway and Wright Studdard; and his sister Rita (Charlie) Powell.
Visitation will be Friday September 9, 2022 from 11:00 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Huntsville, AL. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be a family service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Missions, the Rescue Mission, and the United Way.
