Dennis was born August 4, 1944 in Pulaski, Tn to David Gene & Danny Lucille Callahan Bowen. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam. Dennis loved his dogs (Roxie, Batman, and Milo), collecting cans and scrap metal, and going out to eat with family. He had a passion for driving semi-trucks which he retired from. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents his parents David Gene and Lucille Bowen; his wife Carolyn Bowen; stepson Jimmy Lawhorn; son-in-law Jimmy Dean Brown; brothers David Gene Bowen, and Larry Booth Bowen “Bo Head”.
Visitation will be 12-3pm Saturday August 8, 2026 with Funeral to follow at 3pm. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Survivors include his daughter Angie Bowen Parsons and husband Jeff of Ripley, TN; stepdaughter Kathy Scroggins and Doyle of Pulaski; grandchildren Richard Keith Neller and wife Kierstin, Jamie Lawhorn and wife Rachel, Tiffany Smith and husband Adrian, Kandace Shelton; nine great grandchildren; nieces and nephews Leslie Bowen Stafford “Sissy”, Larry Bowen, Jr. “Tooter”, Eric Bowen, Sr. “Bubba” or “Butcher”, Corey Bowen; special friends Dennis Shouse, James McWilliams “Fred Sanford”, and Angela Abernathy; numerous other relatives and friends.
