Richard D. Wegrich passed away on January 6 at the age of 86. At the family’s request, there will not be a service. Mr. Wegrich was an avid sportsman and loved hunting, fishing, and skeet shooting. He graduated from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana with a Bachelor of Science in Thermodynamic Engineering. He dedicated his working career to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as a Division Chief where he worked on many different projects and made significant contributions to both the Skylab project and the Hubble Space Telescope. He retired in 1995 after more than 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy Cade Wegrich; his children, Richard T. Wegrich and Deborah Borst; six grandchildren; as well as one great-grandson.
