Mr. Richard Alton Brown of Arab, Alabama; transitioned and entered the Gates of Heaven on the evening of Friday – June 25, 2021 at the age of 79.
Mr. Brown was born on the 14th of December in 1941 in Morgan County, Alabama to the late Roy C. Brown and Rilla Jane Cook Brown. Alton began his career at the model shop on the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama and later transferred to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center where he retired after 27 years of service as their senior VP of facilities. After Mr. Brown’s retirement; he spent cherished time with his beloved family and was a master craftsman whom was well known for his woodworking. Mr. Brown was a member of the Sweet Home Baptist Church.
Mr. Brown leaves behind to celebrate and reminisce his life; loving wife of 60 years, June Knop Brown; daughter, Tenna Moultrie (Tommy); son, Joey Brown (Danisa); daughter, Tonya Brown; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; brother; Cecil Brown (Sue); sister, Christine Reece; sister, Joan Martin; brother, C.L. Brown (Becky); sister, Shirley Absher (Gary); God chosen brother, Wayne Vickers (Carol) as well as a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
In addition to his beloved parents; Mr. Brown is at last reunited with his; sisters, Glory Sue Leeth and Dorthy Cprek.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday – June 29, 2021 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
Funeral Service will also be held on Tuesday – June 29, 2021 at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Kenneth Smith, officiating.
Interment will follow services immediately at the Arab Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers escorting MR. Brown to his final resting place will be: Taylor Brown, Nick Horton, Danny Green, Tommy Moultrie, Tommy Vaughn and Geoff Jones.
Honorary Pallbearers will include: Payton Vaughn, Zachary Pritchett, Dakota Pritchett, Joshua Vaughn, Samantha Green and Christina Jones.
