Richard Alan Smith, Sr., 78, Tuscumbia, passed away from complications of kidney disease at NAMC on February 6, 2023. There will be a visitation on Thursday, February 9, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Martha Smith; 2 sisters; and 1 brother.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda “Nut” Smith; and four children, Lisa “LD” Maddox (John), of Tuscaloosa, AL, Leon “Bubba” Smith (Connie), of Littleville, AL, Gwen “Jo” Spriggs (Randy) of Tuscumbia, AL, and Richard “Snuffy” Smith, Jr. (Regina), of Tuscumbia, AL. He was blessed with 15 grandkids; 41 great-grandkids; 2 sisters, and 1 brother.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Kidney Foundation.
The family would like to say a very special thank you to the Davita Center in Muscle Shoals, Keller Home Health, and all the doctors and nurses from 5th Floor at NAMC.
