Rhonda Redd Nugent, 72, of Anderson, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at her residence.
She was a 1971 graduate of Tarrant High School and grew up attending First Methodist Church of Birmingham. She later attended the University of Montevallo, where she met the love of her life, John. She was a current member of First Baptist Church of Rogersville.
Rhonda retired from the United States Postal Service, where she faithfully served as a rural mail carrier. She loved her customers and was especially known for being a friend to the dogs along her route.
In Rhonda’s own words, her greatest accomplishment in life was raising her four children who she was very proud of.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 21st from 2 – 3 at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow in the chapel with Fred Karthaus officiating. Private interment will be in Ingram – Thornton Cemetery.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald & Joyce Redd and her husband, John W. Nugent, III. She is survived by her children, Stephen Nugent; Selisa (Garrick) Williams, Mark (Shelley Tucker) Nugent and Sheila Ellison grandchildren, Theodora Nugent, John Nugent, Sadie (Cameron) Arnold, Sophie Williams and Porter Ellison; great-granddaughter, Araya Arnold; brothers, Douglas (Judy) Redd and Gary (Shari) Redd; sister-in-law, Diane Arnold; numerous nieces, nephews and her canine companions, Minnie and Sassy.
