Carl Schauer, 85, of Huntsville, Al. has returned home to his Lord on June 5, 2019 surrounded by family. He was an aeronautical engineering graduate from the University of Cincinnati. He came to Huntsville to serve in the Army at Redstone Arsenal. He transitioned into working for NASA and became part of the Von Braun team and the Apollo program and went on to work on the shuttle program, serving NASA for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Desdemona (Doris) Schauer; daughter, Melanie Aldridge; son, Randy Schauer (Tara); stepdaughter, Joyce Rodger; stepson, Paul Caouette (Lisa); grandsons, Chase, Rufus, Kaleb, Austin, and Paul; granddaughter, Heather; great-granddaughter Aveannah.
A Visitation will be held Saturday June 8, 2019 at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home in Madison from 10AM-11AM, the Funeral Service will follow at 11AM. Interment will follow immediately at Madison City Cemetery.
