Reverdy James “Jack” Grissom Jr., age 88, passed away peacefully at his home on April 23, 2026, from an extended illness. Jack was born to the late Reverdy James Sr. and Amanda Bryant Grissom, on December 18, 1937. Jack was a lifetime farmer and graduated from Van Buren County High School in 1956.
Jack is survived by his loving family, sons; Jeff (Billie) Grissom of Laurel Cove, Scott (Kathie) Grissom of Tullahoma, grandchildren; Lauren Blakewood, Jeth Grissom, Abby Van Wayenberg, great-grandchildren; Kashton Blakewood, Kali Blakewood, Heidi Van Wayenberg, and Benny Van Wayenberg. A large extended family also survives.
A Graveside Service for Jack will be held on Sunday April 26, 2026, at 2:00pm in Long Cemetery, with Jim Grissom officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Long Cemetery.
There will be no visitation or services at the funeral home.
