Reva Azbell Wright, age 92, of Florence, passed away at her residence in Florence, Alabama on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016.
Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 15th from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Spry~Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will be Tuesday, Aug. 16th at 1 p.m. at Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ with Brother Kenny Barfield officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Pallbearers will be Jim Cook, Jonathan Bowling, Devin Kimbrough, Vince Berry, Briggs Wright, and Grant Azbell Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Bowling, Jason Bowling, Bill Caudill, Dale Ledlow, and Jeremy Bowling.
She was born in Amory, Mississippi to J.F. Azbell and Mittie Turner Azbell and was a resident of Sheffield, Alabama for 29 years and a resident of Florence, Alabama for 61 years. She was a member of Annaoplis Avenue Church of Christ and Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ. She was also a member of Sheffield High School Alumni Association. She was an accomplished Folk Art Painter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, S.B. Wright Jr.; parents, J.F. Azbell an Mittie Bell Turner Azbell; sister, Mary Azbell Anderson; brothers, Wayne Azbell and Grant Azbell; and son-in-law, Freddy Bump.
She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Cook (James), Carolle Bump, both of Florence, Bonnie Bowling (Randy), of Byron, Georgia; sons, Steve Wright (Diane), of Sheffield, Scott Wright (Anita), of Clayton, North Carolina; niece, Jean Foster (Bobby), of McDonough, Georiga; great-niece, Melissa Wadsworth; great-nephew, Bill Caudill; sister-in-law, Becky Hearn; grandchildren, Jim Cook, Michelle Berry, Cyndi Ledlow, Bryan G. Kimbrough, John Kimbrough, Jonathan Bowling, Jason Bowling, Jeremy Bowling, Elizabeth Wright, Briggs Wright, Samuel Wright, William Wright, Carrie Wright, Thomas Wright; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the sitters, Pat Pounders, Kay Jones, Dean Kimbrough, Darlene Pauley, Glenda England, and Hospice of the Shoals especially Cynthia Rollins (Nurse).
