Funeral Services for Mr. Reuben A. Loveless, age 86 of Ashland, will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Olive Branch Baptist Church at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Richie Farrow officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Loveless passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2020 at the Clay County Hospital. Born in Randolph County, Mr. Loveless lived most of his life in Clay County. After serving in the U.S. Army for two years, he moved home and worked as a welder for Kimberly Clark. He is retired from the National Guard and is a member and deacon of Olive Branch Baptist Church. Mr. Loveless was also one of the founding members of the Clay County Rescue Squad.

He is survived by his son, Joey Loveless (Amanda) of Ashland; five grandchildren: Tara Sides (Payton) of Eclectic, Erica Simmons (Quamain), Monica Gaddis (Devin), Spencer Loveless (Rachel Lyons), and Rilee Blair, all of Ashland; seven great-grandchildren: Kalvin Simmons, Emery Gaddis, Keaton Simmons, Jake Sides, Kwinton Simmons, Janie Sides, and Wren Gaddis; one sister: Myrtrice Baldwin of Huntsville; one brother: William D. Loveless (Mae) of Lineville; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lindsey and Meta Stephens; plus a large extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents: James Henry Loveless and Eva Lipham Loveless; his wife, Virginia Lee Carwile Loveless; one son, David Loveless; and seven brothers and sisters.

Active Pallbearers will be: Spencer Loveless, Kalvin Simmons, Steve Hanners, Tyler Hanners, Ben Hanners, and David Wilson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Rex Porter, James McPhee, Tim McCain, Lynn Patterson, Russell Anderson, Larry Moncus, Tommy Hanners, Don Gaston and Allen Denney.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. He will lie in state for one hour at Olive Branch Baptist Church from 12:00 P.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M.
