Regina Hodge Gunter, 76, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was deeply devoted to her family, especially her granddaughter, Zeta. She loved mowing lawns, taking dance classes at the Wellness Center, and spending quality time and traveling with her daughter, Heather. She treasured time with her church family, morning coffee with her brother, Rickey, daily phone calls with her Aunt Reba, and visits with her son, Tim. To know her was to be loved by her. She had a special way of showing up, whether in the little routines of daily life or in life’s happiest moments. Her steady presence will remain a lasting comfort to everyone who knew her.
Regina is survived by her daughter, Heather Gunter; her son, Tim Gunter (fiancée, Heather Hannigan); her granddaughter, Zeta Mooney (fiancé, Stephon McGlaun); her brother, Rickey Hodge (Donna); her aunts, Reba Mann (Johnny) and Francis Clark; her nephew, Tyler Hodge (Carol); her niece, Andrea Grasse (Golden); and her three cherished great-nieces, Kaylee, Harlei, and Maddie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Juanice Hodge.
The memorial service will take place at 1 PM on Friday, December 19, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Pontotoc, MS, with Bro. Ken Hester and Bro. Clay Stegall officiating. Visitation will start at 11 AM and continue until the service begins.
