Rebecca Ashley Smith Knight – Obituary

Rebecca Ashley Smith Knight passed away Wednesday July 12, 2017 after a two-year battle with cervical cancer. She was in the arms of her husband and mother when she went to be with the Lord.

Becky leaves behind her husband, J Michael Knight, step-son J Patrick Knight and 3 daughters, Blakleigh Pearson, Smith Anna Knight and Lillian Jane Knight. She is also survived by her parents, David and Debra Smith and a brother Hadley Smith.

She is preceded in death of her Paternal Grandfather Kenneth Ray Smith, Maternal Grandparents Charles and Norma O’Farrell and one uncle, Charles C O’Farrell.
She is survived by Paternal Grandmother Georganna Smith, Aunts Debra (Eddie) Wells and Janet (John) Reithmiller and Uncles John (Sharon) Bradley and Roger O’Farrell and numerous cousins.
Becky was born in New Orleans, La and her family moved to Tupelo when she was 2 weeks old when her father accepted a call to Harrisburg Baptist Church where he still serves.
Becky was a graduate of Mississippi State University and was a nutritionist for Northeast Mississippi Head Start and later a national consultant for Head Start.
The last several years she worked for Harrisburg Baptist Church with Recreation and Senior Adults until the illness and treatments became too much.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon on July 31, 2017 at Harrisburg Baptist Church. Visitation will proceed at 11:00-12:00.
