Rebecca Anne Malone Floyd, 85, Alexander City, Alabama, formerly of Tuscumbia, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023. Visitation will be Saturday, August 26, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Scott Livingston officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.

Rebecca was a longtime resident of Tuscumbia. She was very active in her community, participating in local civic groups, charities, and theatre productions. Rebecca was a member of Valdosta Baptist Church for almost sixty years, a lifetime member of the Helen Keller Garden Club, and portrayed Kate Keller in the “Miracle Worker”. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Johnson Malone, Sr. and Mamie Ivanora Romans Malone; and siblings, Samuel Johnson Malone, Jr., Kenneth Erskine Malone, Harold Charles Malone, Sidney Earl Malone, Bettye Ruth Malone Brantley, and Norma June Malone Crossno Talmadge.

Rebecca is survived by her children, Iva “Karen” Floyd, of Navarre, FL, and James “Jimmy” Gordon Floyd, Jr. (Brenda) of Alexander City, AL; grandchildren, Amanda Dawn Floyd Jordan and Samuel Gordon Davis Goodwin; step-grandson, Benjamin Goodwin (Leslie); and great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Dawn Jordan and McKenzie Grace Jordan.

Pallbearers will be Benjamin Goodwin, Larry Countess, Scott Herring, Mike Rackley, Jimmy McGee, and Daryl Quails. Samuel Goodwin, Michael Isbell, and Andrew McWright will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Valdosta Baptist Church, 103 East Marion Avenue, Tuscumbia, AL 35674.
