Her promotion to Heaven and transfer to Post Everlasting to continue her work for Jesus is truly a cheerful celebration. When compared to her eternal joy, this temporary separation will be but a moment. No tears need be shed. Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. (Psalm 30:5)

Becky ended her days as a revived Christian, and left this world with full assurance of her heavenly home and joyful anticipation of meeting her Heavenly Father. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, retired registered nurse and previous Captain in the Alabama National Guard and U.S. Army. She loved all the duties and jobs she had. She and Steve were blessed to have three wonderful daughters, whose outward countenance only serves to enhance their gracious and beautiful hearts. Becky loved to dig in the dirt, plant seeds, can her own food and read with a passion when time allowed. She cherished her fellowship with other believers who were the dearest friends and support during her time of need. She truly appreciated each call, text, card, visit and prayer.

Becky, who died Thursday, September 13th 2018, at home, was born September 3rd, 1956 in Fürstenfeldbruck Germany, to Robert Howard Groves and Patrica Jean Tyree. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, James Patrick Groves.

She is survived by her faithful, dedicated, and loving husband, Steven Wesley Burney; their three daughters and their spouses, Stephanie and Timothy Bogan of Town Creek, Amanda and Barry John of Decatur, Andrea and Caleb Carr of Odessa Texas; her grandchildren, Matthew, Dylan, Lauren and Katheryn Bogan, Daniel Sansing and Katelyn John; her mother, Patrica Jean Tyree of Somerville; her siblings, Vicky Grissom (Amos), Bobby Groves, Suzie Ables, Mike Groves (Christy) and Rosemary Peek (Mike).

Pallbearers will be the American Legion Riders and graveside military honors will be rendered by the Honor Guard of American Legion Post 15. Becky was a proud member of this God honoring military organization.

In lieu of flowers, Becky kindly asked that donations be made to the Children’s Ministry – Pioneer Club at First Baptist Church of Town Creek, 15770 Main Street, Town Creek, AL 35672.
