Raymond Delano McPhail, Sr., 86 of Florence, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at Mitchell Hollingsworth after an extended illness. He was a Veteran of the United States Army who loved Alabama football, the Atlanta Braves and NASCAR. He loved to laugh, whistle, sing and take care of his yard.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Park, with Kevin Black officiating.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Kraft; mother, Louise Agusta Boland McPhail; son, John McPhail; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Frank Broz; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Adrienne McPhail.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years Carolyn Kelley McPhail, Florence, AL; sons, Raymond McPhail, Jr, and Phillip Davila (Liz), both of FL; daughters, Margie McPhail, Jacquelyn Sanchez (Roland), Katherine Schuler (Dave), all of CA, Tamaiera Cheek, (Eric), FL, and Kelley McGee (Brandon), Killen, AL; brothers, Edwin McPhail (Kate), Florence, AL, John Michael McPhail (Della), and James Kelley, both of FL; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
