Rayburn (Buddy) E. Goodman Jr, 59, (Five Speed), as his co-workers knew him, went to be with his heavenly Father Thurs., Nov. 12, 2015 after fighting cancer for eight long years. He never gave up, and always believed his fate was in God’s hands, his faith in God prolonged his life and gave him comfort. His first words when diagnosed and told “that he should go home and get his affairs in order” were, God put it here and he can take it away. That is the life he lived with God always first.
He was a faithful member of Underwood Baptist Church unless he was in the hospital or unable to walk, you would find him there for every service or event. He loved his church family.
He was preceded by his parents Rayburn, Sr. and Opal Goodman. Survived by his wife, Patricia Goodman; daughter, Kristy Miles (Jeb); son, Brandon White, (Michelle); one precious granddaughter, Bella White, that he dearly cherished. He was so anticipating the birth of his first grandson, Jackson, to Kristy and Jeb. Sisters, Ann Anderson and Linda Henry (Doug); brothers, Jimmy Ray (Donna), and Tim (Najuane); brother-in-law, Ray McGee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
All services will be at Greenview Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 14th from 6-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Greenview Memorial Chapel Sunday, Nov. 15th at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
