Wesley Hill was a lifelong resident of Town Creek. He served in the U.S. Army, then he spent 35 years working at 3M in Decatur. After retiring from 3M, he worked at Valley Landing Golf Course in Courtland. Wesley was a great athlete, particularly in basketball, and he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play soccer, softball, baseball, basketball, football, and dance.
He was also an avid reader, especially of Westerns – he could’ve started his own Louis L’amour bookstore. He loved fishing, camping, and playing golf, the Hazlewood Golden Bears, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and the Atlanta Braves. Most of all, he loved his family and the times spent with them.
Wesley is survived by his wife of 53 years, DeLinda Grisham Hill; his daughter, Tiffani Hill-Patterson, and granddaughter, Riley, both of Tuscumbia; his son, Michael Hill, daughter-in-law, Robin Smith Hill, and grandsons Lincoln and Griffin, all of Lexington, South Carolina; sister, Marlene Williams, of Courtland; and brother, Stanley Hill, of Town Creek.
The family would like to thank the staff of ComfortCare Hospice in Sheffield, especially Judy Story, for their support and kindness.
