Ray “Chip” Sikes, Jr., age 52 of Athens, Alabama passed away Wednesday, August 11,2021 at U.A.B. Hospital in Birmingham. He was born in Haleyville, Alabama and a graduate of Phillips High School. He coached for 25 years at Monrovia Middle School in Madison County Alabama and he was a member of the Church of Christ.
Graveside service will be Monday, August 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Cemetery (Hwy 129) in Haleyville.
Mr. Sikes is survived by his wife, Melanie Sikes; father, Ray Sikes, Sr.; children, Logan Elmore, Lindsey Hanback and Ivey Allen; brother, Jack Hayes; sister, Donna Ingram; and 5 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Louise Snider Sikes.
