Randford Dewey Burns, age 75 of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born on May 16, 1947, in Huntsville, Alabama to the late Marvin and Daisy Ellen (Church) Burns. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Before his retirement, Randford had been employed as an over the road coast to coast truck driver. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite, and York Rite having served twice as Past Master at Solar Lodge 914, twice as Past Master and Charter Member at Endeavor Lodge 934, member of Gurley Lodge 521 and Apollo Lodge 921, founding member of Brothers in the Wind Chapter of Alabama Widows Sons, member of Cahaba Shrine in Huntsville, Alabama, and past Director of Cahaba Shrine Motor Corps. Randford also participated in Rolling Thunder and worked with the patriot guard. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing guitar, riding his motorcycle, fishing, and hunting. But most of all, he cherished the time spent with his beloved grandchildren and attending their activities as well as traveling with his wife. His family will remember his wonderful sense of humor, his loving and caring personality, patriotism, and his faithfulness to his family. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Huntsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Daisy Church, Beb Church, and Dora and Nathaniel Burns. Randford is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Patsy Burns; children, Timothy (Stacy) Burns, and Jason (Sherri) Burns; grandchildren, Danielle Burns (Nick Smith), Megan (Joe) Mullins, Mason Burns, Jak Burns, and Paisley Burns; siblings, Richard (Marsha) Burns, Ronald Burns, and Martha Tuggle; mother of three grandchildren, Michele Burns; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester, Tennessee. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 11, 2023 in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Crawford officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery with military honors bestowed and Mike Burns, Joe Mullins, Nick Smith, Kevin Hardin, Logan Helton, and Brad Burns serving as pallbearers and Scott LaGrone and John Hill as honorary pallbearers.
