Randall “Randy” Keith Goodson, age 67, a lifelong resident of the Morgan City community in Lacey’s Spring, Alabama, passed away quietly at his home the evening of Tuesday, October 14, 2025. Born on August 14, 1957, in Decatur, AL, Randy was the cherished son of James Vermon Goodson and Mary Mozell Black Goodson. He was a member of the New Canaan Baptist Church in Morgan County, reflecting his Baptist faith. Randy worked as a drywall manager in the construction industry, where he was respected for his skills.
Randy was well known for his passion for NASCAR, especially as a huge Dale Earnhardt fan. He loved race cars and never missed a chance to cheer for Alabama football. Randy was outgoing and friendly, with a warm personality that made everyone he met feel like a friend.
He is survived by his brother, Gary W. Goodson, and by his significant other, Renee Irvin.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Vermon and Mary Goodson; brother, Michael Steven “Steve” Goodson; and his sister, Sherry Goodson Colligan.
The family has chosen to honor Randy’s wishes for cremation with no services. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
