Ramona King Thorn, age 84, passed away May 11, 2026. She was born July 2, 1941, in Russellville, AL to the late Thomas Luther and Inez James King. She was married to Pete Thorn.
Ramona worked for Flowers Bakery for 13 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Her favorite song was “How Great Thou Art”. Her favorite scripture “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity” I Corinthians 13:13. She attended Russellville High School where she played the clarinet in the band. Her hobbies include, swimming, reading, Hallmark movies, playing piano, rook, and was a champion in Chinese checkers. She was always smiling. Pete and Ramona just celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary. Mom was Nicole’s biggest prayer warrior.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Jennifer King Thorn; and granddaughter, Kellie Marie Thorn Morgan.
Ramona is survived by her husband of 70 great years Pete Thorn; children, Tab Jeffrey Thorn (Sherry), Thomas Jason Thorn (Patricia), Jill Nicole Busler (Kevin); grandchildren, Jessica Cantrell (Lucas), Ben Thorn (Kristina), Nick Thorn (Chelsea), Natalie Busler; great-grandchildren, Olivia Cantrell, Eli Cantrell, Sawyer Thorn, Everett Thorn, Walker Thorn, Dylan Morgan, Jonalyn Thorn, Sadie Marie Thorn, brother, Tiffin King, and a host of family and friends.
