Ralph Spencer Smith, 80, of Priceville, Alabama passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, Alabama. Born Tuesday, July 11, 1933 in Blanche, Tennessee he was the son of the late Con Selvin Smith and the late Alberta Smith. He was preceded in death by sister, Imogene Taft.
He lived most of his life in North Alabama and was a member of Mt. View Church of Christ in Priceville. He loved the Atlanta Braves and Auburn football.
Surviving are wife, Lorene Wales Smith, Decatur, AL; son, Rickey (Linda) Smith, Athens, AL; daughters, Renay Helton, Kokomo, IN; Rhonda Smith, Spring Hill, TN; sister, Artenia Roaden, Nashville, TN; four grandchildren, Brittany and Bradley Helton, and Brandon and Troy Nelson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Mike Roden and Robert Fudge officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
