Ralph Frederick Kreps Sr. – Obituary

Funeral service for Ralph Frederick Kreps Sr. age 90 of Hartselle will be Monday, February 25, 2013 at 1:00pm at New Center Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Bates officiating with burial in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery with full military honors and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be on Monday from 11:00am until service time at the Church.

Mr. Kreps died on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born May 11, 1922 in Cullman County to Raymond William Kreps and Myrtle Jackson Kreps. He was a member of New Center Baptist Church, was preceded in death by a brother; Wilbert Kreps and by two sisters; Dorothy Kreps Maus and Mary Kreps Perry. He was a retired U.S. Army, Master Sergeant, serving for 25 years. He was a World War II Veteran and was involved in three invasions; Sicily, Normandy and North Korea. Retreated out of Hungnam and went to Pusan and joined forces and drove the enemy to the 38th parallel and that is where we are today.

He is survived by his wife; Jean Aline Yeager Kreps of Hartselle, a son; Ralph Kreps Jr. of Cullman, a step-son; Danny Gillespie (Loretta) of Moulton, two daughters; Rebecca Kreps and Dixie Kreps Widner (Bruce), and a step-daughter; Diane Ward (Junior) all of Cullman, one sister; Louise Kreps Brown of Cullman, twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Church members will serve as pallbearers.
