Ralph E. Wingo – Obituary

Ralph E. Wingo, 95, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, at Russellville Hospital. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Belgreen Cemetery.

He proudly served his country in World War II as a private first class in the U.S. Army. Mr. Wingo received the ATO medal, APTO medal, Philippine Liberation with Bronze Star medal, Good Conduct medal, Bronze Arrowhead, World War II Victory medal, the National Defense medal, and other awards and decorations. Mr. Wingo retired from TVA where he served as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Isbell Church of Christ.

Mr. Wingo was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Evelyn Wingo; twin daughters, Linda Lou Wingo and Brenda Sue Wingo; parents, E.B. and Beulah Wingo; and brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Elaine Wingo, Spruce Pine; brother, Coy Wingo, Tuscumbia; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
