RAINBOW CITY– The Rainbow City police officer who was arrested in connection to a sex crime, David Chase Jenkins, 45, of Rainbow City, on January 30 has been charged with one count of Sodomy 1st.
Statement from Rainbow City Police Chief Greg Carroll:
“Date: February 1, 2016
SODOMY ARREST
(Etowah County, Alabama) A Rainbow City man was arrested and charged in connection to sodomy, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
David Chase Jenkins, 45, of Rainbow City, was arrested January 30, and charged with one count of first degree sodomy, which is a felony. The incident occurred to a female adult victim while Jenkins was off-duty.
He is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center without bond.
Rainbow City Chief Greg Carroll said, “As of January 31, Chase submitted a letter of resignation that went into effect immediately.”
The investigation is ongoing.”
