Mrs. Raethena Dansby Johnson

Racey was born in Cleveland, OH to the proud parents of Ray Dansby and Brenda Dansby on September 20, 1969. She was the eldest of three siblings. Racey turned her life over to God, and was Baptized at Fellowship Baptist Church, Cleveland, OH.
Racey was a product of the Shaker Heights School System. Then eventually moved to Huntsville, Alabama. She followed her passion to take care of others in the healthcare industry as a Certified Nursing Assistant. That nurturing smile of hers helped many patients.
Racey has always enjoyed spending time with her children, family, and friends. She was a proud mother to her children and has always been a second mother to her brother. Her greatest joy was her time with her grandchildren.
Racey met the love of her life, Larry Johnson. From that day forward, they have been inseparable and were truly best friends. Racey will always be remembered as Larry’s “Queen”.
Racey was no stranger to the spotlight and always lit up the room with her contagious smile.
Racey leaves in loving memory, Husband: Larry Johnson; Parents: Ray Dansby (deceased) Brenda Dansby Carpenter; Children: Christopher East, Craig East, Taylor Wilburn, and Cyrus Wilburn; Grand Children; Cairo East and Kensley Preyer; Sibling: Daryl Carpenter (Cheree) and Renita Dansby (deceased); Aunt: Doris Boykins (Fred – deceased); Uncle: O’Lee Toney; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Racey will always be remembered as a fun-loving ray of sunshine. She is the life of the party and teacher of all lessons.
Memorial service will be 3:30 p.m., Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW, Huntsville, AL 35810).
