Graveside service for Rachel Ward, 86, of Hartselle, will be Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Hartselle Memory Gardens with Bro. Walter Blackmon officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ward died May 7, 2016, at her residence. She was born Nov. 2, 1929, in Morgan County to Lewis L. Sims and Ruthie Orr Sims. Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Edward “Pete” Ward.
Survivors include one son, Del Ward (Anita), of Hartselle; one daughter, Bonnie Weinman (Doug), of Hartselle; four grandchildren, Kris Ward (Melissa), Nick Ward (Cindy), Bo Weinman (Kim), Alison Weinman Black (Jeff); seven great-grandchildren, Tyde, Luke, Keaton and Lillie Ward, Turner, Samantha, and Emerson Weinman.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
In lieu flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
