Rachel Lannett Phillips  Ms. Rachel Lannett Phillips, a longtime resident of Arab, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 4, 2026. Born on March 7, 1950, in Marshall County, Rachel was the daughter of Huston Smith Leak and Edith Mae Owens Leak. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Troy Elmo Phillips, in 2018.

Rachel dedicated her professional life to production work at Eaton Corporation, earning respect for her unwavering commitment and strong work ethic. She was a faithful member of Hopewell Baptist Church, where her kindness and generosity touched many lives.

Rachel found joy in the outdoors, especially while camping at the lake, creating treasured memories with her family and friends. She also enjoyed ceramics, crochet, and cooking, and took pride in maintaining a spotless home—especially her floors.

She is survived by sons Ricky Phillips (Donna) and Jeffrey Leak (Crystal); her mother, Edith Mae Moon; grandchildren Lindsey Phillips (Lillian Lawson), Addison Leak, Cullan Leak, Emmy Lou Leak, Cody Martin (Sara), and Tyler Martin; great-grandchildren Noah Martin and Skylar Martin; brothers Joe Leak and Phillip Leak; and sister Regina Johnson (Ricky). Her legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Preceding her in death were her father, Huston Leak and her husband, Troy Phillips.

Services honoring Rachel’s life will be Friday, April 10, 2026, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon, followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm, officiated by Brother Randy L. Blakely. Interment will be at Brashier’s Chapel Cemetery with Steve Reynolds, Steve Watson, Cody Martin, Tyler Martin, Ken Pierce and Craig Williamson serving as pallbearers. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel assisting the family with arrangements.
