R.H. “Sonny” Holden – Obituary

R.H. “Sonny” Holden, age 76, of Killen, passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015.

Visitation will be today, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Bobby Walton officiating. Interment will be at Bluewater Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Roberts, Dustin Holden, Jesse Holden, Carl Holden, Ted Thompson, Curtis Morrison, and Ronnie Creasy.

Mr. Holden was retired from Hibbett’s Sporting Goods. After retirement he was self-employed as owner and operator of a general store in the Killen area. He also enjoyed cattle farming in his spare time.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Holden, parents, Jesse and Mary Holden, and sister, Nadine Comer.

Survivors include wife of 56 years, Barbara A. Holden;

children, Tammy L. Roberts (Sammy), Matt Holden (Donna), and Andy Holden (Karla); sisters, Robbie Whitehead and Mary Lou Williams; grandchildren, Hunter, Dustin, Mallory, Jesse,

Rebecca, Juliann, and Grace Ann; and great-grandchildren, Brody, Mason, Avery, and Jace.

The family extends a special thanks to Hospice of the Shoals for their special care given.
