QiDr. Qi Mao, 53, of Florence, passed away Monday February 17, 2014, at ECM Hospital following an extended illness. Dr. Mao was a native of Shanghai, China and a research scientist for TVA. Our Dad was the best father figure any child could ever ask for. He was the hardest working man we knew who always selflessly put his family and others ahead of himself. He may not be physically with our family, but his spirit and legacy will live on through the values and character that he instilled and passed on to us. We love you Dad. Rest in Peace. Allen, Max, and Mom.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday at Greenview Funeral Home.

Survivors are his wife, Vivian Zou; sons, Allen Mao and Max Mao all of Florence; and two sisters, Hai Ping You and Hai Lian Mao both of Shanghai, China.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Webb and the staff of Hospice of the Shoals, Dr. Ferguson and the staff of Med Plus, the Palliative Care unit of ECM Hospital and Dr. Mao’s team members at TVA for the care and compassion shown during his illness.

An online guest book may be viewed and signed at www.greenviewmemorial.com.

Arrangements are by Greenview Funeral Home.
