SHEFFIELD – Restoration work is progressing quickly at the original Muscle Shoals Sound Studio at 3614 Jackson Highway. Since the building moved out of private ownership in 2014 a lot has happened. The movie MUSCLE SHOALS started the ball rolling. And with help from Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre’s million dollar gift, Rodney Hall, Swampette Judy Hood and a cadre’ of dedicated persons, the old building is at the cusp of re-emerging as a world-class recording studio.
It looks like the crew from Craig Construction will have the space ready in just a few weeks. Before long the technical people will be there installing audio cables and some sweet state-of-the-art analog and digital recording equipment.
