It is with deep respect and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Prenest Junior Pittman, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. Born on January 30, 1967, in Memphis, Tennessee, Prenest departed this life on June 15, 2026, also in his hometown of Memphis.
Prenest was a dedicated and hardworking individual who devoted over 35 years to his career as a fork lift driver at Rapac. His commitment to his work was unwavering, and he was respected by colleagues and friends alike. Unfortunately, his career was curtailed due to disability, yet his spirit remained strong throughout.
A Baptist in faith, Prenest found joy and peace in his spiritual life. Beyond his professional endeavors, he loved to garden, cook, and take rides, activities through which he expressed his passion for life. Above all, Prenest treasured his family deeply and lived his entire life in Oakland, a community that was fortunate to have him as one of its own.
He is survived by his brother, Ronnie Pittman of Oakland and his sister, Rose Pittman of LaGrange. Prenest’s legacy continues through his nephews, John Murphy and Michael Whittemore, who carry forward the affection and values he cherished. He was preceded in death by his father, Prenest Cooper Pittman; his mother, Elsie May Matthews Pittman; and his sister, Mary Murphy.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Prenest’s life will be held on June 18, 2026, at Wyatt Cemetery, located at 125 Cemetery Lane, Hornsby, Tennessee, 38044.
Prenest Junior Pittmajn’s enduring love for his family and community, his devotion to faith, and his gentle nature will be remembered with great affection and respect by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness and dedication will continue to inspire. May he rest in peace.
